Swedish Massage
The massage movements associated with the Swedish school - particularly kneading, gliding and percussion - form the basis of massage therapy in the Western tradition. Used with varying pressure according to client need, they help to release contractures (knots) in the muscles and adhesions in the fascia to alleviate muscle pain and dramatically improve mobility and range of motion.

Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic Massage combines elements of many massage modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage, in order to help clients recover more rapidly from acute or chronic injury. Its focus is on reducing muscle contractures (knots) and fascial restrictions and helping clients regain optimal mobility and range of motion.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on releasing contractures (knots) in the muscles and adhesions in the fascia through a combination of compression, Swedish Massage movements, cross-fiber and longitudinal friction, and myofascial release techniques. This type of massage can help to reduce long-stranding muscular restrictions and scar tissue, as well as improve mobility and range of motion.

Sports Massage
Sports massage is an invaluable training, event-preparation, and rehabilitation tool for athletes of every level. Using a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and isometric stretching techniques, sports massage helps to prevent sports-related injuries by identifying trouble-spots in the muscles and fascia during training. It also significantly reduces recovery time, improves performance during events and speeds rehabilitation from sports-related injuries. See our "Research on Massage" page for more information and references for relevant studies showing the benefits of massage for athletes.

Prenatal Massage
Prenatal Massage significantly reduces the muscle and joint pain, as well as the stress, associated with pregnancy. Gentle use of Swedish and Deep Tissue massage techniques offers expectant moms in their second and third trimesters a restful way to de-stress and improve mobility and mood.

Pediatric Massage
Pediatric Massage uses gentle Swedish Massage and isometric stretching techniques to reduce pain from muscular contractures (knots) and fascial restrictions in children. It helps to prevent future injury by identifying trouble spots in muscle and fascia and improves mobility and flexibility. Pediatric massage also significantly improves mood and focus in children by reducing cortisol levels and increasing endorphin levels. See our "Research on Massage" page for more information and references for relevant studies showing the benefits of massage for children.

Special Needs Massage
Massage for the special needs population combines Swedish, Deep Tissue, and isometric stretching techniques as per client need. It reduces muscle contractures (knots) and fascial restrictions and improves range of motion. Massage can also dramatically improve mood and focus by reducing cortisol levels and increasing endorphin levels. See our "Research on Massage" page for more information and references for relevant studies showing the benefits of massage for clients with special needs.

Infant Massage Classes
Infant Massage is amazingly beneficial for parents and babies. It is simple to learn, and it offers a natural way to bond with your baby and help your baby recover from birth. It significantly improves your baby's ability to sleep for longer periods and gain weight while reducing the pain, discomfort, and crying associated with reflux, gas and colic. In addition, infant massage reduces symptoms of post-pardum depression in moms.

Infant Massage also has dramatic benefits for pre-term infants: it improves weight gain, bone density, and neurological development; and it shortens their hospital stay.
